The Experience
From your first message to prints on the wall, here is exactly how a session with me works and what you can expect at each step.
Say Hello
Send a message with your date, the type of session and anything you already have in mind. I reply with availability and honest guidance on which collection fits.
Consultation
We talk by phone or in the studio. This is where we settle location, timing, who is coming and what you want the images to feel like.
Book Your Date
A signed agreement and a retainer hold your date. Both are handled online, and the retainer applies toward your total.
Plan & Style
You receive a styling guide with color and fabric suggestions, a location plan, and a simple timeline for the day.
Session Day
We meet, we warm up, and we work through the plan without rushing. I direct gently and leave plenty of room for the unposed moments.
Careful Editing
Every delivered image is individually color corrected and lightly retouched by me. No batch filters and no outsourcing.
Your Gallery
A private online gallery arrives with high resolution downloads, a print release and simple sharing for family.
Prints & Albums
If you want albums, framed art or professional prints, you can order straight from the gallery and I will help with the selections.
On The Day
What actually happens during a session
The first few minutes are just conversation. I do not start with the hardest group shot, because nobody is warmed up yet. We begin with something easy, everyone relaxes, and by the time we get to the photographs that matter most, you have forgotten the camera is there.
- I arrive early to scout light and set up so your time is not spent waiting
- Gentle, specific direction, never a long list of instructions
- Breaks built in for small children and anyone who needs them
- Group shots handled first while everyone still looks fresh
- Time reserved at the end for the candid, unplanned frames
- You see a few images on the back of the camera as we go
How To Prepare
- Read the styling guide and lay clothes out the night before
- Choose colors that work together rather than matching exactly
- Schedule haircuts about a week ahead, not the day before
- Bring a snack and water for sessions with young children
- Arrive a few minutes early so we start relaxed
- Bring anything meaningful you would like included in a photo
Good To Know
Common questions about the process
How do I hold my date?
A signed agreement and a retainer reserve your date. Both are handled online, and the retainer applies toward your total. Dates are not held without both.
Can I reschedule?
Yes. Sessions can be rescheduled once with reasonable notice at no extra charge, subject to availability. Weather related reschedules for outdoor sessions are always free.
How many images will I receive?
Each collection lists a minimum number of edited images. In practice most galleries come in above that number. Quality decides the final count, not a quota.
Do you retouch the photos?
Every delivered image gets color correction, exposure adjustment and light cleanup such as blemishes or a stray hair. Deeper retouching is available on request for selected images.
Who edits my photographs?
I do, personally. Editing is not outsourced, which is part of why the finished gallery looks consistent from the first frame to the last.
Can we order prints through you?
Yes. Professional prints, albums and framed wall art can be ordered straight from your gallery. You also receive a print release if you prefer to print elsewhere.
